Booking Term & Conditions


Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer. Payment is requested on the day of each service to the driver. If you are paying by bank transfer, this must be arranged in advance. All prices include GST.

When booking your transport,  your credit card details are required to secure the booking.

A booking confirmation email will be sent to you with a link to a secure page to enter your card details, once completed $1.00 will be charged to your card. This is in addition to your transport costs and is non-refundable.


We do not travel in remote areas after dark due to safety concerns and local wildlife. In winter this means no pickups before 7.00am or after 4.00pm.

Travel Insurance

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance, especially in winter months, as there may be unavoidable delays such as snow. We will not be liable for your missed connections if we are unable to pick you up due to weather conditions being unsafe to drive

Service Delays/Cancellations

Due to “Force Majeure Events” beyond the control of the operator there may be an effect on the delivery of services beyond the control of Cradle Mountain Coaches (CMC).

CMC buses may be unavoidably late or cancelled if specific incidents of exceptional adverse weather conditions exist which are materially worse than those encountered in the relevant places at the relevant time of year. The Highland area of Tasmania can be prone to ice and snow in winter and bush fires in summer that necessitate road closures and or lengthy detours.

Stove Fuel Supply

We supply fuel and gas brands as requested or an equivalent item. We donate unused gas cans to local scout and guide groups.

– 230g GasMate Cannister   $10 each

– 100g Jetboil Cannister       $15 each

– 200g Jetboil Cannister       $20 each

– 1L Shellite                          $10 each

– 1L Methylated Spirits         $10 each

No-Show Fee 60%

Return and outbound services where you do not meet the agreed service date and time and have not made a reasonable attempt to contact us to advise us of your cancellation, you will be charged 60% of the original quotation/ticket value as a no-show fee. We will ask you for credit card details when booking.

The Advice we provide to you

We do our best to provide you with current information about the places we service. You can’t solely rely in this information as actual results may vary.


Cancellations less than 48hrs from the day incur a 60% cancellation fee.

Late Service Charge 20%

If your agreed pick up time with us is missed by more than one hour, as a result of your connecting travel delays (air service arrives late) we may ask you to pay a late fee of 20% of your original quotation/ticket.

We will wait 1 hour for your arrival, or return to complete your journey if we already have other passengers on board.  However, we reserve the right to change or cancel due to safety concerns if we have to travel on remote country roads after dark  or in adverse weather conditions.

Early Exits

Sometimes walkers finish early, we will endeavour to meet your earlier time or as soon as possible.

Quotations Validity Period and Confirmations

Our quotations are valid for 21 days. We will confirm by email or by telephone your booking details. You should contact us a few days prior to reconfirm your booking.

Meeting Connecting Transport Services

We are not responsible for you not meeting connecting transport services. You should choose to make reasonable time to connect to other services in the event that our service is delayed, as a result of circumstances beyond our control.

Luggage Storage and Transfer

Please note that whilst every care is taken with your luggage we accept no responsibility and travel insurance is always recommended

All bags stored with us must weigh less than 15kgs if your bag is over 15kgs we will supply additional bags to spread the weight across making it safe and easy for our drivers to move your bags if needed. All luggage stored with us will incur a fee of $30 per bag.
